Some RECENT work

NASJONALMUSEET

I have done sound design, composed music and made stories for over 90 room and art pieces for the new National museum in Oslo. When you walk around in the museum with you’re headset you will hear my music and the voices of 13 different languages talking about the art in the Audioguide.
Working on sounddesign, edit, music, mix, delivery 2021.
It is a looong walk and hundreds of art pieces and art forms. 3.5 km of museum, with a pricetag of NOK 1240.000.000,- (eks mva:-)

Karons Sandkasse

Karons Sandkasse won Heddaprisen for “Best Children Performance” 2022. A strong story about children and death was made by a family who knows a lot about it. It played at teater Innlandet and toured Norway and played at Det Norske Teatret 2021-2022. Regi: Torkil Sandsund Manus: Miriam Prestøy Lie og Torkil Sandsund

THE ambush

«The worlds first digital Vikingmuseum». Here you can dive into «The Ambush» in an immersive VR-experience. Or you can see how the vikings lived in an surrounding 3 meter high, 270˚ cinema screen. “The Ambush” is one of the first drama productions done in volumetric capture at Ridley Scotts Dimension Studios in the UK. I was fortunate to make the music to all the films and experiences at The Viking planet, in both VR and 2D, and we actually also got a price or two for this production:-) Roumers say that Ridley Scott and Stewen Spielberg watch this in LA, and liked it. (Yes, I am available by phone:-)

Wendy and Peter Pan

On the main stage of the venerable Nasjonale Scene (The National Stage) in Bergen, it smells of gunpowder, the actors are in intense fight with swords, as they fly high under the roof while fighting pirates and crocodiles! For this i have made lots of different music that is both cinematic, rhythmic, orchestral and sometimes also sore, which supports the storytelling, mixed in surround for the audience. Made the music for this very humoristic, important and sprudlende theatreplay with Ida Høy as director. Is on tour now with Teater Innlandet 2021

SUPERKID

Won Heddaprisen 2022 for “Best Youth Performance”. I was lucky to make the music for this personal and very emotional story by Kingsford Sayor.

PODCAST FOR SVARTTROST/NRK

Did a 10 episode podcast series called Grøss og Gru for NRK. Music, sounddesign and mix, for monsters, creepy stories and old fairytales!

Rikke Petikke

This figure theater, directed and written by Ester Grenersen, is about a young girl's imagination, and how things in her room come to life when she is going to bed. About the music of this character theater, a reviewer writes very nicely: .. ”makes me think of movie composer sizes like Thomas Newman, the man behind the familiar tune of the drama series Six Feet Under. The music of Rikke-Petrikke and the bedroom, have an originality and some special qualities…”

BUKKENE BRUSE

BUKKENE BRUSE Lager Rumpebrann is a theatre play based on a bestselling book. With RIKSTEATRET it traveled all over Norway and was a big success. I put the music on Spotify, just for the fun of it. And surprisingly: over 500.000 streams later, I still get messages about kids playing this music and dansing to the TROLLs in the weekends. So cool! LISTEN HERE:

I have played drums, percussion and electronics and been responsible for music/arrangements/tracks on a number of musicals, theatre plays and performances such as Singing in the Rain, Les Miserables, Spellemann på taket, Peer Gynt (Gålå and Centralteatret: dir Svein Sturla Hugnes, Nationalteatret: dir Alexander Mørk Eidem) etc..

PLAYING LIVE

I play drums and electronics, and like to sample myself while doing it:-) Here you can see how that works. It is just an improvisation really, but a great way to come up with new ideas!

 Interactive Installations

I like to try out new things and this work has ended up in a verity of interactive installations for art festivals where the audience can control 3D elements in sound and visuals, with movements with their body. By hacking a 3D camera that sees your movements in 3D, we can make the audience create art with the help of scenic means such as LED lights, surround sound, geometric 3D shapes, live cameras, smoke engines, lasers and projections. It is very effective, and an incredibly fun and immersive affair!

“Peter Baden’s interactive Space Installation is the one that seems most thought out in relation to its audience. Peter Baden himself has been instrumental in bringing together the technology that is presented, and is good at explaining to participants how to use the hacked Kinect technology. While I'm there, he persuades a modest girl to try it out, and her face lights up as her small movements cause the room to explode with sound and light. Baden’s approach and the atmospheric space give focus to the expression, and it creates an engagement from both the attendees and those from the outside..”
